Controller Job Opening in Winston-Salem, North carolina - Outstanding Winston-Salem organization is searching for a Controller to join their team. It is a very hands-on leadership role, working with a variety of internal and external customers. The Controller is responsible for:
Lead and direct monthly close activities, supervising A/P, A/R and payroll
Perform account reconciliations and analyses to understand the financial performance of the organization and ensure all is booked correctly
Be the main point of contact for department heads in responding to financial questions and helping them monitor budgets
Ensure the financial statements are accurate and timely, and present to management on a monthly basis while explaining trends and variances
Work closely with banks, insurance and external auditors
Assist department heads on creation of annual budgets, and consolidate into a total corporate budget
Responsible for the appropriate accounting for capital expenditures and fixed assets
Mentor and supervise accounting team
Minimum Qualifications for the Controller are:
BS/BA in Accounting
5+ years of experience directing an accounting department in a leadership role
Proven track record of successful leadership
Ability to multi task and problem solve issues
Strong IT/technical skills to troubleshoot issues
Experience in the industry would be preferred
