Cobol Developer or Mainframe Developer Job Opening in Omaha, Nebraska - Job Title: Application Analyst
Job Description: Develop and update software application using the COBOL programming language and applicable utilities for the Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS) on the IBM 3270 mainframe.
Job Specific Responsibilities: Follow Software Development Life Cycle process for project approved by our client. Perform Analysis, High Level/Detail Level Design, Code, Unit/String Test, and support QA testing and production implementation. Update all required documentation. Follow guidance from Project Management Office team and directions from manager and team technical leads.
Candidate Requirements: Must have experience as an IBM mainframe COBOL developer / application analyst. Must be experienced with CICS, JCL, and DB2 database development. EFTPS experience is a plus. Ability to work in a team environment is necessary. Must be able to engage within the team and attend development meetings with team leads and other project teams. Experience with IBM Rational Developer for z Systems (IBM RDz) Integrated Development Environment is highly desired. Experience or familiarity with web services and APIs in the mainframe environment is Qualifications: Development of web services on the IBM mainframe using RESTful/JSON. Experience with using Hewlett Packard Enterprises (HPE) SecureData (Voltage) encryption software.
