Accounting Technician Job Opening in Chesapeake Beach, Maryland - Accounting Technician
The Town of Chesapeake Beach is a municipality located in Calvert County, Maryland. We are seeking an Accounting Technician to be supervised by the Town Treasurer.
A summary of duties include the following:
· Code and enter all accounts payable into our financial system, Incode X
· Process all payable checks, scan into our filing system, ShoreScan, and mail
· Prepare and track receivable of monthly invoices for Town Partners
· Write up journal entries using EXCEL spreadsheets and enter into system
· Accurate and detailed data entry into Personnel System
· Biweekly, seasonal payroll processing for our Water Park
· Serve as weekly backup for front desk receptionist
· Process and record deposits as they are received and enter into software
· Assist Treasurer and Auditors with annual audit
· Verify and reconcile petty cash
· Verify daily deposits against bank statement
Requirements:
· Associates degree in business related field, preferably accounting.
· Two ? three years of experience performing accounting related duties
· Ability to handle confidential matters, set priorities, work well under pressure with an attention to detail
· Good customer service skills
· Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft EXCEL
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $19.13 to $22.03 /hour
