Position Summary:
Responsible for performing full-charge financial accounting of assigned Client and Trust Funds with routine supervision and within task list and government deadlines.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Balance FICA, federal with-holding and payroll taxes and make appropriate deposits.
Prepare and send disbursements letters.
Reconcile checking, savings and investments accounts.
Post journal entries to general ledger.
Prepare and distribute Trust financial statements and statistics.
File 941 and 945 forms, and insure 990 and 550 filings timely.
Pay and file Pension Benefit Guarantee Corporation (PBGC) premiums.
Ensure accounting files are current and in good order.
Review vendor invoices for accuracy and reasonableness.
Make daily/weekly money transfers as needed.
Reconcile batches, pending lists, etc., as directed.
Prepare Client Service and consultant statistical reports.
Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
One to two years related experience. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), business math, and relevant Federal, state and local laws, rules, regulations, codes and/or statutes.
Possess a strong work ethic and team player mentality.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal skills.
Strong decision-making and organizational skills, with the ability to deliver on multiple priorities.
Exceptional analytical and problem resolution skills; ability to exercise independent, sound judgment.
Ability to read and understand financial statements and budget reports.
Proficient PC skills including intermediate to advanced Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook skills. PowerPoint experience preferred.
