Accountant Job Opening in Seattle, Washington - Position Responsibilities:
The Accountant will report directly to the CFO of the firm. This position is responsible for the accuracy and timely reporting of the firm?s routine financial transactions and activities for its four legal entities. This will include responsibility for general ledger journal entries, A/P, Billing, monthly reconciliations of asset and liability accounts for all entities, maintenance of monthly, quarterly and annual closing checklists, and the maintenance of file management system to support accounting close cycles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare, document, and post routine journal entries, including payroll, 401(k), LBO management and expense allocations, and others as necessary and requested.
Prepare, maintain and provide for review a set of monthly reconciliations for all four legal entities. These reconciliations will include FSA accounts, bank accounts, intercompany accounts, and other asset and liability accounts as identified and requested.
Responsible for Year End 1099 processing
Review vendor invoices for appropriate documentation, gather necessary approvals, and code into proper GL account
Record cash receipts of customer payments in the proper legal entity and assigned to appropriate account
File, organize and maintain all records thoroughly, accurately and timely. Document and maintain processes.
Administer monthly client billing process
Other duties as requested.
Position Requirements:
Associate or Bachelor?s degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum 1-2 years of experience. Experience in a professional service environment is preferred.
Extensive experience with general ledger, reporting, reconciliations, and closing processes.
Understanding of general time and billing software systems required; strong preference for experience with relational databases
Experience in Excel required.
Desire for continuous improvement and willingness to support improved internal controls.
High level of professional integrity and accountability
Hours & Benefits:
This is a full-time position with a full benefits package which includes: medical/dental, PTO, 401k with employer contribution, life insurance, transportation subsidy program, and long-term and short-term disability policies. Hours are M-F, 8:30am ? 5:00pm. Salary commensurate on experience. Applicants must be able to pass a background check. AA/EOE.
