Echo Vascular Tech Job Opening in Birmingham, Alabama - A busy Cardiology group at Princeton Hospital is looking for a part-time Echo Vascular Tech to work Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
This position is responsible for:
Performs all echo, carotid and doppler studies as directed.
Adheres to echo schedule to ensure patients studies are done at appropriate appointment times. Makes every effort to work efficiently to avoid lengthy patient wait times. Accommodates add on appointments as needed.
Prepares associated reports on studies and sends reports to physicians for review and sign-off.
Accurately and thoroughly utilizes the EMR and Ultralinq to save studies to patient charts.
Maintains appearance and cleanliness of examination room and all equipment in work areas, including the disposal of refuse or dirty linen.
Ensures supplies are available for work area and examination rooms.
Contacts the necessary parties including office manager when equipment is out of order and places request for service call in a timely fashion.
Attends Quality Assurance meetings as directed.
Assists with the daily upkeep and maintenance of the lab?s accreditation.
Maintains active credentials and registration as sonographer and obtains CME?s as needed and directed.
Ultra-sound experience is required.
Serves as back up for other positions as needed. All other duties as assigned.
Excellent communication skills are required for this position. Advanced computer skills are required. Strong medical terminology. Ability to accurately determine blood pressure and basic vital signs. Excellent organizational skills required.
Two or more years of diagnostic medical sonography required. Two or more years of healthcare experience in a cardiology practice preferred.
Must have completed a diagnostic medical sonography program, being certified as either a registered vascular sonographer or diagnostic medical sonographer.
