The Complex Safety Manager serves as a resource to all management and hourly employees throughout the complex for personnel safety, DOT and Security and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies and procedures. The duties also include supervising safety and health personnel, auditing, coordinating and providing safety training.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of applicable OSHA, DOT, EPA and workers compensation regulations and the ability to apply them to the complex operations.
Ability to travel to all complex facilities; access work stations; observe working conditions; communicate effectively with employees, management and service providers both orally and in writing, including use of a computer for emails and research (Microsoft Windows Explorer, Outlook, Word and Excel).
Ability to make safety-related measurements of air contaminants, sound levels and physical dimensions.
Post-high school education (4-year degree preferred) in a related technical field, certification (preferred) as an ASP/CSP or CIH, continuing education hours in safety-related topics.
Working experience in safety role in manufacturing industry, poultry (preferred), and poultry complex (ideal) for 3+ years.
