Front End Software Engineer Job Opening in Inwood, West virginia - The Library Corporation is currently accepting applications for the position of Front-end Software Engineer. We use a range of lean/agile techniques and encourage a work environment where that knowledge is shared. We love extroverts and introverts but you need to be able to communicate effectively in writing and join discussions when you have something valuable to contribute.
Experience with Kanban, lean software concepts, and agile concepts a plus, but not required.
Essential Experience:
5+ years front-end engineering experience
Experience with AngularJS (1.x) and jQuery
Strong front end programming skills with Javascript, HTML5, CSS
Working knowledge of ES6
Experience with testing frameworks and languages (Jasmine, Karma, Protractor, Qunit)
Experience with CSS pre or post processors (SASS, Less, etc)
Experience with visual frameworks (Bootstrap)
Ability to write high quality code that is easy to test, re-use, and maintain
Experience with Object Oriented Javascript and Design Patterns
Experience with AJAX and Restful APIs
Experience with package managers and module loading concepts (npm, jspm, require js, google closure, AMD, CommonJS, etc)
Ability to self-start and gather requirements
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong communication skills
Basic experience with Unix command line
Experience with version control systems (SVN, Git)
Ability to collaborate with backend developers and design an efficient API for the interface?s needs
Desirable skills but not required:
BS in Computer Science or related field
Experience with component based architecture
Experience with mobile first/responsive design
Experience implementing web accessibility standards
Experience with front end build tools (Gulp, Grunt, etc.)
Understanding of client-side performance issues and optimisation techniques
Experience profiling AngularJS applications
Experience with Agile methodologies (Kanban, Scrum)
Background in HCI, User Experience, or Design
