Stafford & Associates, publisher of the Star Shopper () since 1973 and owner of the Blue Star Business Services marketing agency (), is seeking a full-time Advertising Sales Representative based in Northwest Arkansas. The position has a high potential for lucrative uncapped commissions.
Our core focus is on helping our clients best promote their products and services in order to grow and succeed. We offer our clients a complete suite of marketing and advertising solutions in both print and digital. These include print ads, online ads, direct mail, creative services (branding, logos, etc), websites, SEO, social media marketing, content marketing, and more.
We are seeking a highly motivated salesperson. The ideal candidate is intelligent, curious and passionate about helping local businesses and organizations grow and succeed. You must be polished and comfortable communicating the value of our products and services. You must be a strong prospector and comfortable with closing new business deals. Self-motivated individuals who have the drive to overcome obstacles and stay positive despite the inevitable challenges that come with sales typically do the best. Some of those challenges include handling rejection and working independently.
Responsibilities:
Your primary mission will be to help our clients grow their revenue and create value by using our advertising and marketing solutions. You will be responsible for selling print advertising, direct mail, digital marketing, and creative services to local and regional businesses. A strong focus on acquiring new clients is critical.
Prospecting & Lead Generation
Proactively identify and acquire new clients
Build and maintain a full pipeline of sales prospects
Make cold calls to develop new business prospects
Monitor competitors? publications, websites & direct mail in order to generate leads
Stay up-to-date on industry and market trends
Selling
Gather information on clients and prospects, their products and services, and their target markets
Grow existing accounts and actively engage new prospects
Generate revenue across all available platforms
Meet or exceed sales targets
Communicate effectively to clients how certain types of advertising will promote their products & services and grow their revenue. ?We offer value, not cost?
Be familiar with clients businesses and recommend appropriate advertising and marketing solutions to fit their needs and help them achieve their goals
Build and maintain good customer relationships
Pitch proposals and provide cost estimates to clients
Managing
Develop and maintain close relations within an assigned territory in order to exceed customer expectations
Manage existing clients and develop new business: Competently manage leads, customer pipeline, sales process and client interactions
Make service calls on existing clients to achieve customer satisfaction and develop new business opportunities
Weekly account maintenance and fulfillment for existing clients
Work with the Production Department to ensure ad creation fits clients? requirements
Perform quality assurance prior to publication to ensure accuracy of advertising
Review each issue of our publication, websites and social media promptly to stay abreast of our products, services and marketing efforts.
Work with the Marketing Team to prepare promotional materials
Participate in weekly sales meetings and report on the status of client accounts
Communicate daily with management and comple projects as directed
Accurately record all sales pipeline activity in Hubspot CRM
Attend regular networking events on behalf of the company
Skills and Requirements:
Education & Experience
Bachelor?s degree preferred but not required for qualified candidates
2 years of advertising and marketing sales preferred, but willing to train right person
Phone sales experience with strong cold calling and emailing skills
Previous outside, B2B advertising sales experience a plus

Technical
Basic knowledge of print and digital media and advertising
Solid computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other productivity software
1+ years experience working with Hubspot, Salesforce or other CRM is preferred
Ability to learn new software, including: Slack, Tsheets, Google Drive, Hubspot CRM, AMP, Trello, Google Analytics
Knowledge of Facebook & other social media platforms
smartphone & other digital experience is required
Reliable transportation and a clean driving record with a valid driver?s license and proper auto insurance
Experience working in a large geographic territory is a plus
