Position Summary:
Serves as primary company representative in pursuit of defense industry sales from strategic engineered product to build to print services. Creates strategic sales plans for sales growth. Responsible for capturing sales orders for all company products and services against annually set sales goals. Primary activities include relationship building, business development, proposal generation and order closing functions. Maintains primary responsibility for government military and related contractor accounts, but supports sales to other industries as needed. Manages strategic sales initiatives assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop strategic relationships with key contacts within the government and prime contractors in the defense industry. Cultivates detailed understanding of customer business processes and programmatic approach.
Develops and continuously broadens deep technical knowledge of turbomachinery and power systems engineering.
Develops win approaches as prime and subcontractor in government RFP environment. Proactively assesses government plans and proposes target programs. Creates target plans including potential partnerships for select programs. Proactively seeks engineered product and build to print sales opportunities through program offices and related contractors.
Solicits opportunities from designated accounts by self-managed efforts including various face-to-face and non-face-to-face communications. Travels to customer sites as required, and manages overall travel spending within annual plan. Submits written reports of sales calls.
Plans and supports promotional activities including trade shows and participation in government conferences. Creates promotional material including literature, site content and makes product presentations.
Reviews prospective solicitations and makes decisions to quote/no quote via company guidelines and/or peer review as appropriate.
Sets direction of product offering considering budget, technical requirements, competition and availability of company resources. Utilizes assistance from other company resources as needed but retains final responsibility for proposal integrity and on-time submission.
Sells and closes orders in support of sales goals Reviews and reconciles customer orders against proposal/negotiated terms.
Develops, updates, and executes strategic plan for defense industry sales.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree in engineering or related science required.
Experience in government military research, development and/or acquisition programs.
Understanding of government military business processes and program management approach.
Knowledge of turbomachinery and military subsystems a strong plus.
Self-motivated, with a reputation for timely problem solving and decision-making.
Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced company culture.
Ability to work as part of a team with proven leadership ability.
Strong organizational skills in managing time, projects and resources.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Communicates effectively in a variety of settings.
Creative and innovative. Constant learner.
S. Citizenship required based upon Federal Contract regulation
Ability to obtain US government security clearance, valid driver?s license and US Passport
