Accounting Clerk II Job Opening in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma - SUMMARY
Under direct to general supervision obtains and processes data for use in maintaining agency accounting records by performing routine to complex duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Adheres to agency policy and procedures, CARF and DMHSAS standards and criteria, federal and state confidentiality rules and regulations, and any special funding source requirements.
Compiles and sorts documents, such as invoices and statements, substantiating business transactions.
Verifies and codes details of business transactions, such as department number, account and sub-account numbers, and voucher totals.
Assists in recordkeeping for client based activities (i.e. money management, client assistance funds, program activity funds, etc.).
Maintains records for client fund account ensuring all required documentation is complete and available.
Computes and records charges, refunds, cost of lost or damaged goods, freight charges, rentals, and similar items.
Codes and enters vouchers, reports, and other records.
Prepares checks to pay outstanding accounts payable and obtains appropriate authorization and signatures.
Compiles and sorts data to prepare reports such as client fund balance, flex fund balances, and vehicle reports.
May assist in bank statement reconciliations and preparing/ delivering bank deposits.
Maintains general agency petty cash fund.
Arranges registration, lodging, and travel needs for staff attending training, conferences, workshops, etc.
Maintains central office supplies for the agency.
Purchases office and kitchen supplies for the agency in bulk using most cost effective sources.
Assist in bookkeeping and record keeping of all HOPE properties.
May assist in training of other accounting clerks, as assigned.
May perform duties of other accounting clerks or support staff, as assigned.
Supports and promotes a service environment for individuals in need of behavioral health and/or co-occurring services that is recovery focused, welcoming, and attentive to the needs of individuals who may have experienced trauma in their lives. Attends annual core competencies training in relationship to individuals with co-occurring disorders or who have experienced trauma in their lives.
Travel may be required.
Reimbursement for use of personal vehicle will be made in accordance with agency policy and procedures.
Performs other related duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associates degree or; equivalent combination of education and experience substituting completion of related business school, technical school or college training to the requirements for related work experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
May be required to obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR certification.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to operate calculator, computer system, typewriter, and copier. Ability to relate to persons with severe mental illness in a positive, helpful and constructive manner. Ability to establish and maintain effective and tactful working relationships with co-workers; to express ideas and facts clearly and concisely in written or oral form.
