Creatively Classic Activities and Books is looking for an experienced Compliance Specialist to join our team! The Compliance Specialist works with the Director of Compliance to create, implement, and direct both large-scale organizational and department-specific compliance programs for the company. A primary component of the job function includes the development, implementation and continued management of an enterprise wide internal audit program, working with leadership across the organization. The Compliance Specialist also focuses on the roll-out of a corporate document management system and records retention schedule, and the ongoing administration of the program, including creation of policy, training and working with vendors. He/she supports the Director of Compliance in developing additional policies and procedures, and may lead other efforts as the company continues to grow, and as compliance requirements become increasingly complex.

The Compliance Specialist fills a critical role that is vital to the day to day operations of our business.
This role is responsible for:
Works with the Director of Compliance and IT to implement and subsequently maintain a document management system enterprise-wide, using project management software;
Works with the Director of Compliance and IT to implement a Records Retention schedule and program, partnering with each department company-wide to train on the policy and advise on document disposition; Manages the corporate management system and records retention schedule on an on-going basis;
Works with the Director of Compliance to create, implement, and direct an internal audit process; Systematically audits policies and procedures enterprise-wide to ensure ongoing compliance;
Interprets audit results; Recommends process improvements based on audit findings, delivering reports to the Director of Compliance, Chief Legal Officer/Chief Compliance Officer, and department leadership;
Works with the Director of Compliance and department leadership to implement recommended process improvements and changes to policies and procedures based on audit findings;
Reports compliance and non-compliance issues to the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer and supports the Director of Compliance in developing additional policies and procedures;
Participates in the resolution of any compliance related issues and any related investigations;
Participates in a variety of teams and committees, including company Information Security group; and
Protects company assets through the proper management of asset files and adherence to company policy with regard to information security and management.

You must meet the following minimum requirements:
Bachelor?s degree required; Certification via an accredited, professional compliance organization preferred;
Three (3) to four (4) years of experience in compliance;
Two (2) years of experience in internal examinations/audit, testing methodology, and risk and controls analysis required; Demonstrated experience auditing compliance programs, company policies, and internal controls to mitigate risks;
Demonstrated experience in interpreting audit results, making recommendations based on results, and implementing related changes to policies and procedures;
Demonstrated experience designing, establishing, revising, updating, and coordinating systems to manage and maintain accurate and complete physical document and electronic information and data to ensure compliance and easy retrieval of information; Advanced knowledge in any document management, internal audit or records retention software strongly preferred;
Technically savvy and able to learn new software systems quickly; Intermediate to advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel and Word;
Basic knowledge in any project management software, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Visio preferred;
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
Outstanding organizational and time management skills; capable of effective planning and priority setting;
Strong attention to detail and accuracy;
Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn, adapt, and apply new processes to job responsibilities;
Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines;
Excellent interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated ability to develop strong working relationships throughout the organization; and
Highly professional in interactions, demeanor and presentation.
