Design Release Engineer, Sensors/Control Systems Job Opening in Dearborn, Michigan - Position Description:
Engineer, Powertrain Controls Core Sensor Engineer Particulate Matter (PM) Sensors -Lead Core Component Engineering for Particulate Matter Sensor -Design and release activities related to core sensor technology -Develop and maintain key core sensor documentation -Lead supplier relationship on Core commodity -Actively participate in subsystem implementation of PM sensors Lead sensor application activities for first use technology revisions Participate regularly in the Diesel Exhaust Controls Subsystem feature team Lead studies in sensor to sensor variation and life aging of sensors Support Calibration technical community in proper verification of dewpoint and sensor function Support application engineers responsible for packaging PM sensors -Warranty lead for PM sensors -Maintain strong relationships with Research team regarding PM sensors -Benchmark competitors related to sensor supplier used, design features, and sensor position -Support sensor level investigation on pre-production and production vehicles
Skills Required:
Minimum 5 years of design and release responsibility -Minimum 3 years of experience with sensors and/or control systems using sensors -Experience with CAN communication and CAN tools -Familiarity with Software validation processes
Skills Preferred:
-Experience with Calibration tools is a significant plus
-Experience and expertise in post processing data in Matlab or equivalent tools is also desired.
-Experience with microprocessor software and software development
Experience Required:
Minimum 5 years of design and release responsibility
Education Required:
BS Engineering degree required: Electrical engineering with strong mechanical understanding or Mechanical engineering background with strong electrical understanding is preferred.
