We are currently recruiting for a talented Embedded Software Engineering Manager to understand and perform deep analysis of software requirements at their Southfield, Michigan location.
If you have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field and over five years' technical design experience within the automotive industry, please submit your resume in Word format.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Understand and perform deep analysis of software requirements as needed.
Identify impact and risk of software change.
Provide in depth research to understand impact and risk when necessary.
Support technical reviews (e.g. design reviews, code reviews, etc.).
Recommend test scope and validation strategy for each software change.
Lead investigation for complex technical issue.
Deep-dive into software issue when necessary.
Perform root cause analysis (e.g. 5Ys)
Propose options with deep consideration of pros and cons.
Interface with internal and external customers.
Manage a small technical group.
Research and understand new technology (e.g. OTA, Ethernet, Cyber Security) to support getting new projects when necessary.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
Seven to ten years of progressively more responsible software design experience including C programming and assembly language within the automotive industry.
Must possess a process driven approach to problem solving.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills are required.
Experience with all phases of V-ModeI.
Background managing a small team of engineers.
Possess the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
Deep technical design background.
Embedded Software background including C/C++ programming.
Software Architecture experience (e.g. BSW, O.S., etc.).
Background in Root-cause analysis (e.g. 5Ys).
Experience with different validation strategies, issue tracking & configuration management.
Software process & software quality assurance knowledge
Must be a team player.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $120,000.00 to $130,000.00 /year
