Project Accountant Job Opening in Plymouth, Michigan - Duties and Responsibilities:
Set up and maintain projects in the ERP system (10%)
Working with project leads, invoice customers in a timely manner as projects and/or milestones are completed(15%)
Apply payments to customer accounts including ability to research and solve payment discrepancy issues (15%)
Process credit card payments and return credits (5%)
Monitor the percentages of aged accounts and work to keep limits at a level prescribed by CFO (5%)
Set up and maintain all electronic and hard copy customer files including keeping files current with sales and use tax form requirements (1%)
Subcontractor maintenance (25%)
Prepare month end journal entries (5%)
Assist in processing Accounts Payable on a weekly basis (15%)
Calculate various reports on sales to states for Year End Tax packages (2%)
Assist in preparing cash forecasts as they relate to AR and AP (3%)
All other duties as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications:
Associates Degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent relevant experience
Possess strong analytical and mathematical skills with vision beyond the task at hand
Ability to identify problems and prioritize to meet financial goals
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest and discounts
Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
Able to interact within a team environment
Demonstrated ability working with Accounting Software packages.
Ability to make independent decisions and perform Accounting functions.
Ability to meet deadlines and maintain accurate information
Knowledge of commonly used Accounting concepts, practices and procedures
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Strong computer skills in Microsoft applications; including Word and Excel
Physical Requirements:
Ability to withstand periods of high stress.
Ability to lift 50# boxes as the need arises, especially at year end.
