JOB DESCRIPTION
To be COMPLETELY responsible for all live PAYROLL check writing matters in a dedicated and professional manner
Responsibility for Payroll Processors
Hire, train, and supervise payroll processors
Monitor payroll production and payroll processing
Answer all technical payroll questions
Review weekly client reporting to see if clients are reporting hours/wage data properly and timely
Review daily the payroll project lists due
Review on a daily basis the Production Report to see if production percentages are equal to or greater than what is required and to take action if they are not
Review on a daily basis the Time & Transactions report for clients completed that day to see if processing times are improving and to take action if they are not
Act as a backup for payroll processors when on vacation/sick
Responsibility to service Current Clients
Make proper officer SUTA elections when needed
Review payrolls processed for accuracy
Monitor profitability MONTHLY on clients from Time and Transaction Report
Discuss with Owner if fee increases are necessary
Handle and resolve tax notices and other questions from clients
Monitor banking reports for returns/rejects/NSF?s
Return clients phone calls timely (before you leave for the day) and courteously
Ensure clients are billed the proper amounts, and billing system is maintained
Coordinate with accounting staff to make sure Direct Deposit clients stay in good standing in their payroll bank account
Responsibilities to Set Up New Clients
Set Up Clients in payroll system
Set up & Maintain Reporting Agent with Federal & state authorities
Set up EFTPS
Make proper SUTA elections
Work with marketing director/clients to obtain ALL needed information, coordinate delivery of first payroll
Ensure all necessary paperwork is completed/submitted & scanned
Set Up Direct Deposit- if applicable -make sure client credit is reviewed & approved
Process payroll until the client is reporting properly and the payroll is running smoothly before turning over to payroll processors
Complete and process quarterly reports
Complete and process W-2/W-3?s
Handle federal, state, and local registrations for clients
Responsibilities to Prepare Federal & State Quarterly & Annual Payroll Tax Returns
Maintain details in Practice CS
Send out year-end questionnaires by November 1st
Review and distribution of final returns to clients
Handle any client payroll tax questions
Handle any taxing authorities correspondence
Ensure files are transmitted or uploaded to IRS/Various state websited, and any rejected files are corrected & resolved by deadlines
Other Duties
To attend regular meetings with Owner to review production, new clients status, profitability on accounts, client problems, staff problems, etc.
Maintain monthly statistics & report to owner
Add/Drop report
# of runs per month
Average check run size
Average fee per run
Average # of minutes per run
Responsibility for payroll software updates and conversions
Liaison with tax and production software vendors
Liaison with company IT consultants
Stay up to date with all payroll tax laws/issues
To Handle Special Projects as Assigned
Payroll system conversions
Working with various states to comply with agent reporting/bulk file uploads
Keep all payroll postings in compliance for Corneliuson & Associates.

Maintain a neat, clean and organized office space
Desk should be clean with no clients records left on desk overnight

Salary: $60,000.00 to $75,000.00 /year
