Responsibilities
The candidate will be part of a dynamic team building next generation applications for Customs & Border Protection (CBP) that enable and facilitate easy interaction between consumers (people and trade partners) and the government. The project will involve building complex web applications using open source technologies and deployed to a government cloud environment using continuous principles. The ideal candidate will have significant experience designing and building contemporary user interfaces with emphasis on user experience.
Required Skills:
Experience designing and delivering complex, highly-scalable software components
Demonstrated expertise in Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) best practices
Experience with CI/CD tools like Gradle, Maven, Nexus, Jenkins, Bamboo
Experience with automation and configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.
Experience with UNIX/Shell scripting
Experience with front-end build tools like NPM, Grunt, Gulp, Webpack is a plus
Java Enterprise (J2EE) application development and implementation experience
Demonstrated expertise with Java and strong knowledge of Spring Framework (Spring Core, Spring MVC, Spring, Spring Security, Spring Boot, etc.)
Experience with REST/SOAP/JSON APIs
Demonstrated experience with Java Application Servers (preferably Apache Tomcat)
Demonstrated experience in software engineering practices (e.g., reading/generating software specs, design patterns, continuous integration)
Demonstrated ability to think critically and creatively to develop innovative solutions to software problems
Agile development experience a plus
Additional Qualifications:
US Citizenship and ability to obtain a government clearance
BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related Engineering discipline
Minimum 7 years of full stack software development experience.
Great communication skills, both verbal and written
