Billing Manager Job Opening in Worcester, Massachusetts - Billing company is in need of a dedicated medical billing professional. This is currently a part time position (20-30 hrs/wk) that will lead to full time for qualified individual, with flexible working hours. There is a possibility of full time in the near future.
The billing and coding coordinator will review patient medical records and create a billing sheets and other necessary forms to bill insurance and other third-party payers as well as the patients. This role also requires to sort and file paperwork, handle insurance claims, educating provider staff about how and what information to properly collect from patients and perform collection duties.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Educate provider staff how to provide complete and accurate information for billing purpose.
Collect information required to submit claims to insurance companies.
Analyze and audit medical bills for charges in order to avoid errors.
Produce and submit claims to insurance companies or any other payor. Work directly with the insurance company, healthcare provider, patient and any other party to process claims.
Perform chart reviews, coding audits, or other coding-related projects.
Answer billing related questions. Manage collections on unpaid accounts, including investigation of denials and related calls, and appeals.
Ensure reimbursement for all procedures.
Manage accounts receivables statistics.
Process payments received from insurance companies.
Prepare and review patient statements.
Maintain strict confidentiality.
Prepare patient records by request to disburse to patient and/or other entities.
Maintain proper knowledge and training regarding current guidelines and standards, annual updates changes, additions, and deletions to codes and coding regulations to ensure coding and billing compliance.
Possess the ability to effectively communicate financial information to all relevant parties.
Required Qualifications:
Five years of medical coding and collections work experience required
Possess significant working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Personal Injury, Workman's Compensation, HMOs, Major Medical POS and PPO billing rules and procedures.
Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT Codes, ICD-9, ICD-10, clinical documentation, and medical billing processes.
Ability to work on several concurrent tasks as well as prioritize workload
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Organizational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and Outlook.
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $30.00 /hour
