Network/Systems Field Engineer Job Opening in Waltham, Massachusetts - Field Engineer III (Waltham, MA)
We are a growing MSP who supports a varied list of technologies and clients in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. A successful candidate for this position will possess strong experience with a variety of network and systems technologies, strong troubleshooting skills, a detail oriented attitude, excellent customer service, documentation and communication skills.
The Field Engineer?s tasks and responsibilities include:

Provide support for high-level system and network issues including performance, outages and security incidents
Test and evaluate network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements
Manage multiple issues concurrently with successful results
Mentor and assist Tier I/II personnel
Effectively track status and time in ticketing system
Design and update technical documentation
Troubleshoot and manage escalations from the help desk, project team, and managed services group
Regular communication with clients, keeping them informed of incident progress, upcoming changes or agreed outages
Taking Tier III support calls live for immediate triage
Skills Required
Bachelor?s degree from an accredited institution.
At least 5 years of IT experience in a support role or related area.
Advanced-to-expert level with Microsoft technologies including AD, GPOs, Exchange, Office 365, Hyper-V, DFS, SQL.
Expert with TCP/IP technologies such as DHCP, DNS, and related troubleshooting tools.
Must possess advanced routing skills and quickly be able to deploy, upgrade, and troubleshoot firewalls, ASAs, routers, managed switches, wireless controllers and WAPs.
Working knowledge of Cisco, SonicWALL and Meraki appliances.
Familiarity with SAN technologies and concepts.
Ability to troubleshoot and implement Cloud solutions such as Azure and AWS.
Familiarity with a broad spectrum of on-premises/Cloud disaster recovery systems.
Strong virtualization experience with Hyper-V, VMware and Citrix
Knowledge of Security technologies such anti-virus, content filtering, IPS, drive encryption.
Experience with malware remediation in complex environments.
Experience with various compliance frameworks including PCI, HIPAA, SOX, FISMA.
Knowledge in all supported Microsoft Operating Systems (Server 2008, Windows 7,8, 8.1 and 10 Server 2012, 2012 R2 and 2016) and Office products.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to switch tasks frequently.
Experience with ConnectWise and Kaseya a significant advantage.
MAC Experience is a desirable but not required
