Managed Care Specialist Job Opening in Baltimore, Maryland - The Managed Care Specialist is a contract position for projects usually lasting 3-6 months in duration. The consultant is responsible for the recruitment of a broad range of healthcare provider specialties into client health plan networks. Solicited providers will include a variety of specialties, small, medium and large group practices and selected ancillary providers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Responsible in negotiating and procuring hospital, professional and ancillary contracts from healthcare providers who meet client needs (i.e. Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, LTSS, PCMH, Mental Health, Vision, Dental and Substance Abuse)
* Accountable for application management reports and updating the system to reflect all prospect interaction and coordinates activities as necessary within the firm
* Reconcile contracts and supporting documents to database
* Perform online provider/facility research to include websites and contacting offices to confirm information, including contact and follow-up for missing information
* Uses team approach to resolve provider contract language and fee schedule negotiations
* Must successfully meet productivity targets as defined by clients, typically regional or national health plans
* Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team
QUALIFICATIONS
* Possess strong customer focus, team leadership and a proactive problem solving approach
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Interpersonal skills with a proactive communication style
* Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
* Must be well organized and capable of working independently on a variety of assignments specific, but not limited to managed care contracting
* Performance in jobs held characterized by strong customer focus, proactive, open and honest communication style
* Contractor positions are required to possess an operational home office (computer, printer, phone, scanner, high speed internet)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
* Bachelor?s Degree. Healthcare related degree preferred
* Minimum 1 -3 years managed care contracting experience soliciting and negotiating hospital, professional and/or ancillary providers
* Experience soliciting professional provider entities
* Sales experience, good presentation and public speaking skills

* Remote
* Hourly rate commensurate with experience
