Director of Finance Job Opening in Honolulu, Hawaii - As the Director of Finance, you will be responsible for providing financial expertise and leadership to enable the company to implement business strategies while maximizing the return on key stakeholder investments. The primary focus of the position will be the execution of all financial and accounting activities and the accurate delivery of financial results.
Key Responsibilities
In collaboration with the Executive Director of Finance, Area General Manager, Hotel Controller and senior property based management create and implement the annual business plan and budget, incorporating specific strategies to maximize and achieve financial objectives across all areas of the business
Work with Hotel Controller to oversee the timely and accurate reporting of all corporate and property finance related activities
Provide leadership in creating specific policies and procedures for internal treasury and control, risk management, and corporate compliance measures with training and mentoring as required to ensure successful objectives
Provide management and expertise leadership support to the Hotel Controller and property based finance team
Oversee and ensure strict compliance to all local authority, state and federal government legislation
Proactively pursue value growth opportunities
Assist Area General Manager with all financial matters
Active involvement in Mantra Group corporate activities to assist in planning and review of the area?s performance
Conduct internal spot checks and audits on a scheduled, yet random, basis
Key contact for all external audits and auditors
Advises the Executive Director of Finance of existing and evolving issues
Provide due diligence information for property acquisition including budgets and forecasts for feasibility studies
Qualifications
Bachelor?s degree in Finance or Accounting is required
Minimum of five (5) years related work experience with progressively increasing management responsibility; hospitality related financial management and accounting experience desirable
Experience with forecasting, budgeting, metrics reporting and analysis
Demonstrated expertise in accounting and financial information systems
Strong organizational, analytical, verbal and written communication skills
