Essential :
Responsible for support of the PHESS database, successful receipt of emergency department data used for analysis in the ESSENCE application.
Be the lead developer in a data dashboard related to our Essence data.
Assist internal and external users in accessing and utilizing data contained within the ESSENCE
Provide technical assistance for the receipt of hospital emergency room data from multiple sources using multiple delivery mechanisms, such as PHIN, SFTP.
Maintain servers and databases related to PHESS databases within the Epidemiology Resource Center.
Interface data integration with software development and data architecture on a department basis.
Support development of new applications as required to assist the Epidemiology Resource Center and the Public Health Preparedness Division
Job Requirements:
Eight (8) years, full-time professional work experience in an Information Technology environment with four (4) full years of systems and data mapping experience.
Highly proficient with one or more of the following: SQL, Oracle DB, or other widely used application tool.
Highly proficient with JavaScript, Angular and
Experience with creating data dashboards.
Two (2) years accredited college training in Information Technology or related field; or a Certificate in Information Technology is preferred but not required.
Advanced knowledge of the information systems development life cycle, information technology, project tools and approaches to data retrieval and routing.
Thorough knowledge of enterprise security practices.
Ability to work in a team environment, with multiple and fluid demands.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to maintain effective and professional working relationships with internal and external customers, and vendors.
Ability to prioritize projects and address immediate technical needs as they arise.
Desirable Job Skills:
Knowledge and experience with John Hopkins Essence
