Trial Court Technology Business Analyst Job Opening in Indianapolis, Indiana - This position serves as a Business Analyst / Software Support Specialist with the Indiana Supreme Court?s division of Trial Court Technology, supporting an IT Project Manager with the implementation, maintenance, testing, and ongoing technical support, for the Supervised Release System (SRS) and other INcite applications developed in-house.
Essential
Develops software requirements, performs regression testing, creates supplemental user guides, and facilitates trainings, for implementation of the Supervised Release System and other INcite applications. This position provides ongoing technical support, performing onsite and remote analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex technical issues for end users, while recommending and implementing corrective solutions. In addition, this position assists with elevated questions originating through the help desk and completes related tasks assigned by the IT Project Manager. Additional responsibilities include but not limited to:
Participate in the design, delivery, and scheduling of software application training
Solicit stakeholders? requirements through interviews and/or existing system documentation or procedures
Support deployment and integration of new applications to support county level end users
Assist in the design, delivery, testing and improvement of in-house software applications
Test fixes and perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved
Identify and learn appropriate software applications used and supported by the organization
Document procedures, standards, best practices configurations, settings, installation sequences and back?out instructions
Develop supplemental training materials for end users; manuals, user guides, quick reference sheets, etc.
Provide support in maintaining deployed applications and upgrading systems as needed
Receive, research, and resolve or escalate e-mail and phone based support requests
Perform onsite and remote analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex technical issues for end users; recommend and implement corrective solutions
Log, track and close help desk tickets utilizing tracking software
Coordinate with other departments, teams, and vendors to research and resolve issues regarding in house applications
Use computer based software tools to gather information and troubleshoot issues
Communicate application problems and issues to key stakeholders, including management, end users, software developers, and project leaders
Handle, research, resolve, and follow-up on complex user issues, escalating to supervisor and technical staff, as needed
Solicit feedback from software application users to evaluate ease of use, product performance, level of service and support
Monitor progress of requests for support and ensure users and IT Project Manager are informed
Liaise with IT Project Manager and Software Developer on the development of system enhancements to overcome known problems or further fulfill user requirements
Create user accounts and troubleshoot access issues
Investigate and resolve application errors, data discrepancies and queries
Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Accredited Bachelor?s degree in criminal justice, business administration or other related field with at least two (2) years of related professional experience. Community Corrections experience is preferred.
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook, intermediate to advanced level
Knowledge, or ability and willingness to learn SharePoint and Visio
Working knowledge, or ability and willingness to learn Odyssey and INcite
Advanced technical acumen, with ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies
Ability to work with little supervision or oversight and to exercise independent judgment in a mature and professional manner
Able to develop and interpret technical documentation for training and end user procedures
Demonstrated intermediary and conflict resolution skills
Motivated self-starter with the ability to anticipate and meet work needs
Ability to act as a liaison on behalf of the Administrator when interacting with management, staff, internal and external customers to provide program specific information, answer questions, and address issues/problems raised
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including command of correct grammar, proofreading, and editing
Ability to use tact and diplomacy when dealing with the needs, problems, and/or concerns of other department staff, outside agency personnel, and/or the public
Demonstrated ability to follow through on tasks, pay attention to details, and work independently
Possess strong problem solving skills
Ability to work collaboratively with internal customers and colleagues to create a high-quality results-driven, team oriented environment
Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure
Proven ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information and materials in a professional manner
Possess a valid driver?s license, for required travel
Must exercise absolute confidentiality; avoid conflicts of interest and the appearance of conflict of interest, abide by the Employee Handbook and Judicial Code of Conduct. Must be willing to submit to a criminal background check.
