VP of Operations Job Opening in Chicago, Illinois - The Role:
We are looking for a hands-on VP Operations to implement and oversee our organization?s operations and procedures aligned with commercialization. You will be the responsible for the efficiency of the business and involved with all aspects as we aggressively implement our business plan (currently underway with beta test program).

This position is based out of Chicago and involves regular travel, initially to Colorado and throughout the US. Requires an obsessive start-up mentality and work ethic, be prepared to work 60+ hours / week, with the internal drive to achieve breakthrough results. A personal interest and familiarity with cannabis is essential. The VP Ops role is a key member of the senior management team, reporting to the CEO. You?ll have to maintain control of diverse business operations, so we expect you to be an experienced and efficient manager and hands-on executor. You?ll have been part of a start-up and you understand what?s involved in the early stages; the successful candidate who joins Realize is a committed to be part of our business and we take this commitment very seriously.
Ideally you have relevant background in branded and regulated CPG in industries such as dietary supplements, (tobacco, alcohol, or related sector) involving the development, production, sales and distribution of branded and regulated consumer goods. You have an understanding and accept that there will be frequent and rapid changes, refinements and improvements to products? formulation, packaging and production. You have an understanding of distribution to independent and chain retail stores and familiarity with multi-state manufacturing and distribution operations. Experience with technology and specifically IoT and consumer electronics hardware experience is most helpful.
Realize Therapeutics is a medical cannabis and device firm focused on research, development and commercialization of targeted therapies. As a clinical-stage biotech company operating in the legal cannabis markets, we harness the power of big data to develop cannabis medicines with optimized effects and minimized side effects (i.e., cannabis-based medicines without the psychoactive ?high? and undesirable effects). We seek to discover, develop and patent data-validated formulations for high-need conditions including pain management. Our branded Script? product lines will generate sustainable revenue streams, providing a significant ROI for investors and incentivized team members. Realize is dedicated to improving the efficacy and legitimacy of cannabis as a medicine to ensure public access to the best and safest treatment options. We believe that prescription and over-the-counter pharmaceuticals designed to treat pain, for example, have significant harm and side effect profiles that do not best serve the consumer.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Serve as an extension of the senior executive and be actively involved in all major aspects of the business:
Oversee and participate in the daily operations of the company and team members
Work with the management team and third parties to structure business relationships
Identify, hire and manage key personnel in close cooperation with the CEO
Develop programs and manage ongoing execution
Develop financial projections and forecast models
Assist CEO in fundraising ventures
Participate in expansion activities (investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances etc.)
Manage relationships with partners/vendors and supply chain
Attend and participate in cannabis events throughout USA
Participate in ad hoc projects and tasks as needed.
Highly Desired Qualifications:
Proven experience as VP Operations or relevant management role
Experience with regulated consumer products such as dietary supplements, tobacco, alcohol, OTC medications
Demonstrable competency in strategic planning, execution, project management and business development
Experience in supply chain and logistics, ideally CPG
Working knowledge of data analysis and metrics
Several years in start-up companies that experienced high growth
Sourcing and management of supply chain and production of related devices
Sourcing and manufacturing of OTC medications, chemicals, dietary supplements or relatable sector
Science and technical interest and competency
Experience managing and hands on finance, accounting and human resources
Master?s degree or MBA

Compensation:
During the current pre-funding stage, modest compensation will be provided, and will increase up to $100K + incentive upon funding
