In the fall of 2006, the senior management of Chicago Review Press, Inc., the parent company of IPG, bought Trafalgar Square Publishing, Inc., the leading U.S. distributor of UK publishers. Trafalgar Square Publishing was founded in 1973 and distributes for clients such as Aurum Press, Canongate UK, HarperCollins UK, Hodder & Stoughton, Headline, Orion Publishing, Random House UK, and Simon & Schuster UK. Currently, IPG offers six distribution programs.

We are seeking a temporary Financial Analyst for a three (3) month plus project. This position will have an active role in assisting with the monthly reporting and analysis, ad hoc reporting, budgeting, forecasting and projections. This role has the potential to be converted to a permanent status.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in month-end close; prepares and posts journal entries as needed.
Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements.
Prepare account analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.
Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual compliance and tax filings;
Support all functional areas of the accounting and HR department
Assist in budget & forecasting, develop tools for improving the forecasting variance reporting process
Evaluate profit and cost efficiencies in various areas of the organization as needed
Reconcile corporate Amex, record charges to accounting software, track receipts from card holder
Develop, maintain, and distribute ad-hoc reports and financial models as needed
Other duties and special projects, as assigned.
Qualifications:
3 to 4 years of experience as a financial analyst required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics required
Experience in publishing industry a plus
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel)
Knowledge of Great Plains or similar software desired
Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects
Excellent communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects as well as strong follow through skills
Ability to complete projects timely and accurately critical
Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment
