Lead Software Quality Assurance Engineer Job Opening in Newmarket, New hampshire - Description
Functional and stability testing (Integration, Release candidate, and Maintenance) on new and existing products.
Create and maintain Test Plans for new and existing products, ensuring functional coverage and application performance
Create and maintain testing tools for new and existing products (find ways to automate testing whenever possible)
Report defects and maintain bug database
Leads a small team of on-site quality engineers, providing technical mentorship as needed.
Proofread technical documentation for the Technical Writing and Product Management departments
Document control and database management (Maintain database of SQA files, tools, procedure docs, firmware, etc?)
Implement test methodology best practices as defined by departmental standards
Provide schedule estimates for projects and perform other tasks as needed
Advocate for testing standards
Work with Product Management to establish policy for end user experience on all products
Assures the viability, functionality and effectiveness of essential tools
Anticipates program release problems and takes corrective action, escalating as needed, to resolve and achieve commitments
Manages and responds to QA issues with related groups such as Development, Integration, and Customer Support
Ensures delivery against QA department goals and objectives, i.e. meeting commitments and coordinating overall quality assurance schedule
Maintains product consistency throughout product cycle, to include the design, define and build phases through quality checkpoints and testing
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, detail-oriented, hands-on professional with a proven track record for meeting goals and objectives, and achieving quality and productivity guidelines. He or she will be a quick learner with the ability to complete projects and assignments with limited instruction or supervision, and possess the following:
BSCS, BSEE, or equivalent work experience recommended
Software Quality Assurance degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience
Broad understanding of quality engineering principles and test methodologies
2 to 4 years of experience in software development
Familiarity with Six Sigma or Agile is a plus
Working knowledge of document and revision control methodologies
Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues
Wide breadth of computer networking knowledge
Experience testing user interfaces (web, iOS/Android app)
Experience using and testing custom control protocols
Experience creating and using automated test tools, scripting languages, and programming languages
Experience with Jira, Bugzilla/Testopia or other defect tracking system
Ability to manage multiple projects and time-lines in a fast-paced environment
Experience with managing outsourced (onshore/offshore) test teams
Ability to leverage experience to deliver reliable and repeatable tests
Experience in testing real-time embedded products
Basic Linux skills
Highly motivated and resourceful self-starter with a positive, team-focused attitude
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
