Software Engineer Job Opening in Hollis, New hampshire - Description
The candidate will be working in a small development group and must be flexible enough
to help in several areas of the product development. This includes developing software, creating
test plans, requirement documents and working with the hardware group to verify new hardware
designs. The candidate must be willing to work in an environment that is fast paced and
demanding. The candidate will be writing code for an embedded environment using a single
board computer.
Experience Required: 10-15 years of software engineering in embedded product environments
Experience Desired:
? Experience interfacing devices via various protocols such as RS232, TCP/IP, SPI, I2C
and USB.
? Must have excellent analytical, interpretation skills and attention to detail.
? Demonstrated innovativeness, resourcefulness and initiative to find solutions to design
problems
? Ability to understand schematics at a high level
? Use department approved tools for development, source control and documentation on
selected platforms. Includes SVN, CVS, Visual Studio, Eclipse
? Generate rapid prototypes for feasibility testing.
? Experienced in hardware debugging tools (oscilloscopes, DVM, logic analyzer)
Position Requirements
? Experience in JAVA and C/C++
? Embedded programming. BSP experience a plus
? Experience with HTML, CSS and JS
? Thorough understanding of Object Oriented Design/Development
? Experience in RTOS
? Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
? Must have an understanding of development processes and Quality Management System
? Travel to perform installation, testing and troubleshooting for key customers 10-20%
? Understanding embedded hardware and operation a plus
? Ability to work under pressure and to tight time frames
? Strong team work attitude
Other Specialized Skills, Certifications, and/or Requirements:
? Must have an R&D mentality
? Understand an embedded real time environment
? Generate rapid software prototypes for feasibility testing
? Test software for correctness and completion
? Work with marketing and manufacturing to help produce quality products
Education
Bachelor of Science Degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical
engineering
Security Clearance Required/Level
None is needed at this time but the ability to obtain a security clearance is required.
