The Opportunity
PAF is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join our data team in Hampton, VA. This key role will be responsible for all operational aspects of the organization?s reporting needs, including the preparation and delivery of time sensitive programmatic data reports. The Senior Data Analyst will manage the implementation and production of all ad-hoc, scheduled, contractually obligated and routine reporting needs. Key skills include, interpreting data from PAF?s multiple databases with a heavy emphasis on the use of macros, VLookup and pivot tables in Excel. Skill using Tableau and SQL programming are also desirable. This role will serve under the Senior Director of Health Services Research & Outcomes.
Responsibilities include:
Provide direct data and reporting support to Case Management and other service delivery team members, ensuring compliance with PAF and division guidelines
Manage all aspects of data related activities including data collection & reporting from organization?s various databases and technology infrastructure utilizing MS Excel advanced analytic functions
Create customized research reports; interpret data, apply appropriate statistical analysis, highlight main findings and key points, using MS Excel macros, pivot tables, VLookup and advanced functions to effectively communicate the results both orally and in writing
Manage the production of program/partner/ad hoc reports, providing production assistance when necessary
Assist with the preparation of narrative for data report
Work as a member of the team developing the annual Impact Report
Create draft reporting templates according to the organization?s specifications in Tableau
Under the direction of the Senior Director, serve as the point of contact to leadership for survey initiatives and needs assessments, guidance on best practices and system capabilities
Position Qualifications:
Bachelor?s Degree in Social Sciences, Business, or Mathematics, Health Informatics, or Public Health required
3+ years of professional experience required or 2years + relevant Master?s Degree
Proven intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Excel, and Visio is mandatory (e.g. Data Import/Export, Pivot Tables, V-lookup, Formulas, Macros & Developer)
Proven experience in maintaining project schedules, documentation, communications and meeting deadlines
Working knowledge of multiple database infrastructure and relational database concepts (e.g. Oracle)
Working knowledge of SQL Server(R) Reporting Services (SSAS)
Other desirable skills: Tableau, R or SPS
Knowledge of data extraction tools utilized for manipulating large and complex data sets
Ability to use MS Word, PowerPoint for data presentation
