Sr. Software Engineer, Frameworks Job Opening in Seattle, Washington - Would you like to work in a fast-paced environment where your technical abilities will be challenged daily?
We are looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented, technology expert with excellent written and oral skills. In this role, you will be part of a fast growing, cohesive team with many exciting responsibilities related to framework development, prototyping, and evaluation of newer technologies. Your innovative approach, designs and ability to uncover creative technical solutions will support applications across the Classmates site. Responsibilities:
Provide leadership, mentorship and technical vision related to core development
Full SDLC responsibilities for design and development of reusable application development frameworks and delivery of sample/PoC applications leveraging such frameworks
Analyze and recommend the right technologies to build technical solutions that meet business needs
Object-oriented programming and design including API and database design
Working in an agile team, performing code and design reviews
Deliver on time with high quality
Follow and encourage best practices such as technical documentation on the wiki.
Working with technology and business stakeholders in gathering requirements and for delivery of projects through all phases and into production
Desired Skills and Experience:
Sharp analytical abilities, proven design skills and a track record of delivery.
Leadership, critical thinking and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience working in a lean/agile environment
Experience in system analysis with emphasis on identification of performance constraints
Experience developing and supporting software in a high load Unix environment including performance testing
Experience troubleshooting complex systems
Languages / Frameworks
Expert understanding and implementation of Object Oriented Programming concepts and design pattern
Expert level understanding and implementation of Java (5+ years).
5+ years of commercial web application development using Spring for IOC and web presentation
Advanced RESTful API design experience
Expert level SQL and JDBC skills; experience with Postgres, Oracle or MySQL
Test-driven development advocate using JUnit, Mockito, etc.
Tools
Experience with build and deployment tools such as Maven, Svn, Git, Hudson, Bamboo etc.
Experience with system monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Dynatrace etc.
More Successful Candidates Will Have:
Familiarity with noSQL concepts
Experience with SOLR / Lucene
Involvement with the technology community such as contribution to open source projects or user group attendance
Big data experience with Hadoop, Spark, HBase to solve large-scale problems

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
