Position Summary
Working as a Big Data Engineer within the Financial Engineering Support team providing full application lifecycle deployment and monitoring support to big data applications and infrastructure. We are looking for technically gifted engineers who want to challenge themselves in a fast moving yet disciplined environment.
Qualified candidates must possess a four-year college degree with a preferred major in Computer Science. The candidate must be a team player, be self-motivated, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. In addition, the ability to manage projects and work in a team environment will be critical to being successful in this role. Quant skills and experience in the Securities Industry, preferably Fixed Income, is a plus.
Minimum
Bachelor?s degree with Preferred major in Computer Science / Engineering / Mathematics
Must have at least 4 years of experience working as DevOps engineer with 2 years on BigData technologies
Expertise in Hadoop ecosystem: HDFS, YARN, Spark, MapReduce, HIVE, Impala
Hands-on experience managing distributed systems and clusters
Must have experience working in Financial Industry with exposure to Financial Markets and Modeling (specially fixed income/structured products) and Portfolio Management Analytics
Expertise in scripting technologies like Bash, Python ( Python analytic libraries like numpy, pandas etc.) & Perl
Understanding of C++/Java
Data mining and quantitaive analytical skills is a must
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to Big data technologies like Hadoop, MapR, Cloudera, Cassandra etc.
Exposure to analytics programming languages like MATLAB, R, SAS
Holds a Chartered Financial Analyst(CFA) certification
Exposure to AGILE Software Development
Exposure to programming languages like JAVA, Scala
