The Maryland Department Of Transportation's State Highway Administration Office of Traffic and Safety (Anne Arundel County) is recruiting for a IT Team Member (DOT IT Functional Analyst Lead) position. This position is open to anyone who meets the minimum and selective qualifications* listed below. This is a position specific recruitment. All eligible candidates must meet the minimum and selective qualifications by the closing date. The resulting list of eligible candidates will be used to fill this vacancy, and may be used to fill future vacancies in this classification in the Office of Traffic and Safety (Anne Arundel County). As a member of Hanover's Information Technology team, this position is responsible for supporting all computer, telephone and mobile device users of the 5 offices on the Hanover Complex (Office of Traffic & Safety, Office of Maintenance, Statewide Operation Center, Office of Materials and Technology and Office of Construction). This includes the installation, configuration of upgrades of operating systems and applications, using SHA standards, as well as the installation, assembly and configuration of computer hardware, and peripherals such as printers, plotters, scanners, etc. Troubleshooting and correcting computer system problems, including hardware and software, email, network, and peripheral equipment. This position serves as a technical resource in assisting users to evaluate and find technology solutions by identifying needs and making recommendations. Examines new technologies and documents installation and operating procedures on other to develop user manuals for IT hardware and software, as well as create technical installation instructions for SHA custom or licensed software. This position maintains inventory of voice and mobile equipment and configures the conference room audio and visual equipment. Coordinators and conducts formal and informal training for users.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION : Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources Management, Information Technology or other related field with specific coursework in the structure and use of automated information systems. EXPERIENCE : Two years of experience providing problem analysis and ongoing user support, coordinating system development and implementation, and training users on the functionality of applications for agency or statewide systems housed on mainframe computers or large client server platforms. SELECTIVE QUALIFICATION: Two (2) years of comparable experience troubleshooting, repairing computers and operating computer equipment *A selective qualification recruitment is conducted for positions when there is a specific or additional bona fide occupational qualification (i.e., knowledge, skill, or ability). Notes: 1. Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate and two additional years of experience responding to and resolving help desk calls from users of computers, or operating computer equipment for the purpose of data entry, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, database or other applications may be substituted for the required education. 2. Experience responding to and resolving help desk calls from users of computers, or operating computer equipment for the purpose of data entry, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, database or other applications may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for a high school education. 3. U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as defined under the Minimum Qualifications may be substituted for the required education and experience on a year-for-year basis. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Understand and be able to use Cisco "Call Manager" and Cisco "Unity" systems to manage Cisco VoIP phones.

Possession of a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the state of Maryland.
