Description
SUMMARY
The Senior financial is responsible for all aspects of financial reporting, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures. This role oversees the day to day work of the finance department and is responsible for the effective use and deployment of staff and financial resources.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Compile and analyze financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and review and verify accuracy.
Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reoccurring journal entries and reports.
Reconcile ledger accounts
Prepare balance sheet and profit and loss statements, and other accounting schedules and reports.
Maintain Fixed Assets Ledger and subsequent depreciation schedules.
Manage the preparation of the company?s budget.
Record, classify and summarize financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Prepare and organize supporting documentation for audit purposes.
Performs analysis and prepare special reports.
Establish and maintain financial policies & procedures and systems of internal control.
Complies with state and federal tax filing requirements by advising management on required actions, calculating quarterly estimated tax payments and assembling data for quarterly and annual tax filings.
Supervise finance staff
Help with filing municipal and state tax reports on a monthly and quarterly basis.
Other duties may be assigned.
Perform electronic fund transfers and supplier payments, maintain and file supporting documents and complete detailed bank reconciliations.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University in Accounting or equivalent field of study; and at least 4-6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 3 years related experience and/or training.
Thorough working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues.
The ability to understand and follow instructions and the ability to concentrate are required.
Experience in month end close process adhering to established deadlines.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Applications.
Excellent written, verbal, communication and interpersonal skills required.
QuickBooks System experience and/or similar accounting system experience preferred.
The ability to get along with others or to be part of a team is required.
