Senior Property Accountant Job Opening in Southfield, Michigan - Signature Associates is looking for a Senior Property Accountant to handle primary accounting responsibilities for a diverse portfolio of commercial properties in addition to other assignments at the corporate office in Southfield. The ideal candidate will possess the following abilities:
Create and record receipts to the appropriate tenant ledgers
Review and approve invoices for payment on a weekly basis
Ability to manage cash flows for multiple properties, including timing of paying invoices, preparing capital calls for owners, and calculation of distribution amounts
Create miscellaneous and other non-recurring charge batches for properties
Calculate and create monthly accruals and other adjusting journal entries as necessary
Perform monthly property close-outs, including monthly AJE?s and accruals, bank reconciliation, and preparation of monthly operating reports on a timely basis and to the Client?s specifications for format and timing
Maintain supporting schedules to accounting records
Ability to reconcile tenant and vendor ledgers, as well as general ledger accounts
Abstract tenant leases
Maintain integrity of tenant records in database, including charge and recovery schedules, clauses, and options
Prepare annual CAM reconciliations as necessary
Assist in preparation of annual operating budgets
Manage external audit processes as needed, including preparation of work papers, assembly of information, and answering questions in a timely manner with accuracy
Requirements:
3 ? 5 years commercial property accounting experience
Yardi experience
Excel expertise
Bachelor?s Degree
CPA preferred
General Ledger experience and the ability to construct financial statements
Ability to work in and with multiple accounting system platforms
A high level of customer service skills and the ability to communicate with clients
