Accounts Receivable and Billing Manager Job Opening in Peoria, Illinois - Peoria Disposal Company (PDC) and its affiliate Area Disposal Service, Inc (Area) is a family held company that has been in business since 1928. We operate environmental services throughout 40 counties in Illinois and more than 10 states in the Midwest. Our current facilities include solid waste landfills, a hazardous waste landfill, waste treatment facilities, transfer stations, recycling facilities, laboratories and a consulting engineering group. Owned and operated by the Coulter family, we put the environment first and strive to earn the trust and business of every customer.
We currently have an opening at our corporate office for an Accounts Receivable and Billing Manager. This position will report to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Position Overview: The primary purpose of the Accounts Receivable and Billing Manager is to maintain revenue by establishing, implementing and controlling billing systems; monitoring billing metrics and supervising staff.
Billing Supervisor Job Duties:
The core responsibilities of this leadership role are:
Monitoring and managing team performance, implementing standard operating procedures, customer communication and optimizing department workflow with system optimization.
Accomplishes billing human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures.
Meets billing operational standards by contributing billing information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying billing system improvements.
Meets billing financial standards by providing annual billing budget information; monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions.
Accomplishes billing departmental objectives by measuring billing results against plans; evaluating and improving methods; making required changes.
Guides employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating billing policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines.
Obtains revenue by resolving order and invoice disputes; maintaining customer relations; resolving problems with bank transfer.
Approves credit memos by reviewing documentation.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Billing Manager Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, or equivalent experience is required
3-5 years leadership experience, or supervisory role leading a small team
Required to have experience developing and tracking budget expenses and a strong history of delivering process improvements
Must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to manage changing priorities as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently
Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external suppliers
Highly detailed oriented and ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple deadlines
Desire to utilize technology to automate processes and drive efficiency
High degree of proficiency in excel preferred and ability to analyze and produce executive summaries from high volumes of data
