CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serves as the principal advisor to the Medicaid Deputy Directors on national Medicaid policy trends, emerging Medicaid system and payment design concepts, and related stakeholder engagement.
Works with the Deputy Directors to develop a list of critical projects necessary for the ongoing development, issue mitigation, and modernization of each Deputy Director?s division.
Manages identified critical projects, leveraging resources identified and provided by each Deputy Director to develop each project from inception through readiness for hand-off to program staff.
Works closely with relevant staff of Medicaid contractors to assist Deputy Directors in the management of contracted services, including data, reporting, and ad hoc deliverables.
Under the direction of the Deputy Directors, represents Deputy Directors in stakeholder engagement work, task forces and working groups to facilitate the development of new or modified plans for the Medicaid program.
Serves as a subject matter expert and provides technical expertise for new and ongoing initiatives related to Medicaid special projects and/or Medicaid operational activities.
Contributes to the development of legislative audit responses, briefing documents, talking points memoranda, whitepapers, and other research projects for the Deputy Directors.
Under the direction of the Deputy Directors, performs advanced research on new policy, processes, and/or program opportunities to expand and improve Medicaid programs and operational activities.
Conducts an annual performance evaluation for each subordinate, setting future goals and strategies.
Conducts recruitment, selection, training, supervision, and professional development of assigned staff.
Other tasks as directed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor?s degree.
Minimum 2 years of professional experience managing projects or coordinating on multi-agency projects.
Excellent analytical skills, effective organizational and time management skills.
Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Great attention to detail and follow up, and verbal/written communications skills.
Ability to set, follow, and meet deadlines.
Experience reviewing and editing written content for product accuracy, and general proofing/grammar.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master of Public Health, Master of Health Administration, or other advanced degree.
Minimum 3 years of professional experience managing projects.
Experience in presenting information to technical and non-technical audiences.
Professional experience in healthcare field, Medicaid eligibility, or Medicaid program support.
Supervisory experience.
GPC, CAPM, PMP, PgMP, PMI-PBA, PMI-ACP, PMI-SP, Lean Six Sigma, or other relevant industry related certifications and familiar with the phases of Project Management methodology.
