We are looking for a Policy and Procedure Specialist. The Policy and Procedure Specialist is responsible for working with various departments across the company to document and maintain policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate existing documentation to develop a comprehensive and consistent body of written policies & procedures crossing all areas of operations.
Develop written policies and procedures in a consistent format for all areas of company operation.
Review CMS regulations and Federal Register to ensure compliance when writing and inclusion into policy and procedures.
Research, analyze and gather other internet sources to obtain information to include in the policies and procedures, when applicable.
Communicate effectively with subject-matter experts and extract from them the information necessary to develop policies and procedures.
Write and edit effectively at various levels of detail, from summarizing general business practices to documenting specific work instructions.
Maintain up to date documentation by tracking and recording changes to policies and procedures.
Participate in projects to ensure that policies and procedures are updated according to any changes or updates in regulations or guidance from governmental agencies.
Communicate with coworkers, management, staff, customers, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
Act, dress, and behave in a professional manner to reflect a positive image of the company.
Responsible for compliance with all federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations affecting Company.
Responsible for participating in quality assurance, compliance and in-service and continuing education activities as requested by Company.
Responsible for performing other duties and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree or higher
Minimum of two (2) years experience in health care, insurance compliance or law or any equivalent combination of related training and experience.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulation.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid programs desirable.
Desired knowledge of legislation, rules and regulation governing the insurance industry.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to all levels of management and staff personnel.
Research, critical thinking, excellent writing and organizational skills required.
Skill in dealing politely, tactfully and firmly with a wide range of people and personalities.
Skill in communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
Skill in organizing and prioritizing tasks.
Knowledge of business English grammar, spelling and composition.
Must be able to operate computer, calculator, copier, fax machine, phone and other office equipment.
Must be able to multi-task and think quickly.
Ability to communicate well orally and in writing in the English language.
Ability to understand and carry out complex oral and written instructions.
Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, coworkers, customers, and others.
Working efficiently in a stressful environment
This position requires the ability to work with a personal computer in a Windows environment.
Must be proficient in Word, Excel, Statistical software
