POSITION SUMMARY:
Leads multimedia development programming: the position is responsible for the integrity of Web interfaces for World Wide Web sites and tribal intranet interfaces, and facilitates solutions for the programming- and script-base of other multimedia applications and programs and controls database solutions (primarily SQL-based or current equivalent version) for the unit. This position must stay current with and master the latest programming technologies: Object-oriented languages (C#, , etc.), HTML, appropriate scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript, etc.), etc. This position is also required to assisting the multimedia team on video production and live webcast projects when needed. Previous video production experience is desirable but not required.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Advanced programming skills (e.g., object-oriented programming, e.g., C#, or current equivalent)
Advanced scripting skills (e.g., SQL, JavaScript, HTML, XML, etc.) and knowledge of modern web frameworks (Bootstrap, JQuery, MVC, Angular, REST)
Knowledge of current Version Control Systems, Testing practices, and Automated Build systems.
Understanding of current software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, etc.)
Advanced understanding of database construction, manipulation and maintenance
In-depth familiarity with Web server and systems integration, security and control (for Web DMZ systems integration, currently on MS and Linux OS platforms)
Participation in Multimedia Development project planning
Participates in Multimedia Development tasks as assigned (may require evening or weekend work assignments).
CONTACTS/PURPOSE OF CONTACTS:
The position is expected to interface with managers, dept. directors, council members, supervisors and end users within the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe as well as third party technical support, engineers, consultants and analysts. Both internal and external contacts are made for the purpose of project and issue resolution.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/SAFETY HAZARDS:
Frequent use of hands, wrists and fingers associated with computer operation.
Frequent walking throughout Tribal Operations, Casino, Resort and other large buildings required. High noise levels, dusts, tobacco smoke, lack of space (work, office and storage) are encountered.
Climbing of ladders, lifting/carrying boxes of computer- or multimedia-related equipment exceeding 50 Lbs, accessing high and low ceilings, attics, and crawl spaces, above and below desks, server and network equipment racks required.
Squeezing of hands and body into confined spaces occasionally required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
4-year college in any of these areas: computer science, computer programming languages (preferred), or demonstrated equivalent work experience
Demonstrated programming skills as delineated under Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Familiarity with any of the following is desirable: C#, , Visual Studio, JQuery, Bootstrap, Git, Agile, TeamCity, Web streaming technologies and principles, experience with audio or video production.
Willingness to master new software and new programming languages.
Must be capable of undergoing and passing the background investigation for Gaming License
Must have a valid Michigan Driver?s License and qualify for a Tribal Driver?s License
Must undergo drug screening prior to employment
Upon employment must agree to sign confidentiality agreement
Must possess excellent written and oral communications skills
Must be willing to work any scheduled shift and provide on-call coverage as needed
Must be able to work independently and possess analytical and problem solving skills
Must have a strong customer service oriented attitude
Must be able to multi-task, work well under pressure and in a team-oriented environment
Must be willing to work where change is common while ensuring that all systems run efficiently
