Applications Engineering Manager 2 Job Opening in San Luis Obispo, California - The Applications Engineering Manager balances an outward, or customer focus and an internal focus, meeting the needs of the Company to meet those customers? needs. The position calls for technical marketing responsibilities and development of new or modified processes in support of Revasum?s strategic direction. The Applications Engineering Manager collaborates with current and potential customers regarding specific needs and recommends changes and modifications which help improve overall machine functions over final test results. Evaluates test results to determine if any machine design or modifications are necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage process demonstration and development schedule, allowing mechanical and software engineering access, as needed. Requires coordination with Sales and Marketing.
Develop applications, define system and performance specifications.
Write and negotiate product performance specifications based on customer need and Revasum?s capabilities.
Provide summarized data and process information to Marketing for publication.
Write technical papers for publication and presentation at technical conferences.
Travel to customer sites (domestic and overseas) to deliver technical presentations and interact with customers to support sales efforts.
Direct and perform experiments on Revasum polishing and grinding equipment to determine a BKM (Best Known Method) for superior results on polishing and grinding tools.
Directly supervise three non-supervisory employees.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word
Language Skills:

Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
