Outside Sales Representative Job Opening in Canton, Ohio - BASIC FUNCTION :
Entry Level Sales Representatives are responsible for maintaining current and generating new customers within an assigned geographic footprint, from lead generation through follow-up maintenance. Ensure development of ongoing, profitable relationships with customers and continually maintaining the professional image of the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Responsible for the sales of all product lines; including stainless steel, aluminum, tin plate, tapes, abrasive, and adhesives along with other metal and industrial products
Work cooperatively with Sales & Marketing Manager to develop and implement an annual business plan, strategy and approach specific to the markets with in the territory.
Actively manage calendar and call frequency to adequately cover accounts efficiently and cost effectively.
Demonstrate overall product knowledge and technical selling skills with emphasis on key product or service features and benefits.
Create and perform effective presentations to inform, educate and gain interest in our product lines.
Develop relationships with business influencers and decision makers.
Prepare for and overcome objections from prospective customers.
Provide professional follow-up as a thank you to prospective customers and with the sales team in copy to ensure all are familiar with the account and discussions.
Act as liaison between customer and company for up-to-date information regarding order status, pricing fluctuations, and new product announcements.
Develop a database of qualified leads through referrals, internet canvassing, cold calls, emails and networking.
Maintain an understanding of pricing and quotations relative to market conditions.
Provide sales management and team with competitive feedback and detailed information as to the overall potential business with each account.
Make front-line assessments of market and advise management team of conditions.
Build awareness of new products, services, and sales strategies competitors are implementing.
Cross-sell products and services to maximize the opportunity with each account.
Assist customers in problem solving, utilizing experience and established network.
Maintain accurate records regarding the key contacts at all levels within an account.
Attend and contribute progress updates during business development conference calls and company sales meetings.
Monitors performance against budget objectives.
Maintain accurate expense records and submit reports timely.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.
