Senior Accountant Job Opening in Shelby, North carolina - Machine Builders and Design is a 40-year technology-driven US based company built on innovation, integrity, and teamwork. Our customers entail domestic and international large companies in the snack food industry.
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions. Candidate will be in charge of reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. Responsibilities will require excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts in a manufacturing environment as well as experience and full understanding of ERP / CRM systems.
Duties will include the following:
Provide accurate and timely financial information and reports to facilitate the decision-making process and ensure success of the corporation
Manages accounting functions including maintenance of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and project accounting; ensures accuracy and timeliness.
Oversee operation of Accounting Department, Payroll, Human Resources and Treasury operations
Provide periodic reviews of project margins and advise Strategic Management Teams as necessary
Responsible for the annual budget process, provide monthly reviews, and implementing Business plans and other programs
Provide analysis of cash flow, operating costs and variances
Ensure adequate insurance coverage is in place, thereby minimizing risks
Review standard costs, including appropriate overhead allocations
Review of legal contracts as requested
Set-up new customers in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
Reconcile customer statements and correct discrepancies as necessary
Support financial statement audits and tax returns
Additional job duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor?s degree in Business or Accounting with a focus on Finance/Accounting. Chartered Accountant or CPA highly preferred
5+ years related experience in a manufacturing environment, manage financials manufacturing accounting systems, standard cost accounting, budgeting and treasury functions
?Hands-on? experience implementing or utilizing ERP Accounting systems required. A minimum of 3 years related work experience with a nationally recognized Financial ERP system
Knowledge and experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Must have proficient knowledge in multiple business processes, including:
General Ledger (GL)
Accounts Receivable (AR)
Accounts Payable (AP)
Order-to-Cash (OTC)
Procure-to-Pay (PTP)
Fixed Asset Management (FA)
Budgeting
Cash Management
Project Accounting
Ability to communicate with technical and business team members, as well as clients
Proficient in MS Office, with advanced excel skills
Strong Leadership and supervisory skills
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
Preferred:
In depth knowledge of financial, MRP/ERP and integrated accounting systems
Experience working with generally accepted accounting principles and accounting software packages like QuikBooks
Familiarity with manufacturing environments a plus
Knowledge of Crystal Reports writing
Relevant certification (e.g. CMA, CPA or APICS)
Multi-lingual capabilities
