Director of Outside Sales Job Opening in Cincinnati, Ohio - Smyth Automotive is a major automotive parts distributor in the greater Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton, and Northern Kentucky areas. Currently we are seeking a Director of Outside Sales candidates that are seasoned, professional, outgoing, organized, energetic, and decisive along with demonstration of proven leadership skills and a positive attitude.
As Director of Outside Sales you will be responsible for the sales success of the 24 retail stores and their commercial business by effectively managing the staff, planning and developing short and long term goals.
Job Responsibilities
Ideal candidates must possess a strong management background and excellent customer service skills.
Develop new prospects and maintain existing customer relationships in order to grow profitable sales.
Must be able to follow up on leads and close the deal.
Experience creating the standards and matrix for which salespersons are measured.
Directly supervise sales team through guidance on presentation and maximizing self-generated sales.
Assist individual sales rep in setting aggressive, yet realistic monthly sales goals.
Responsible for recruiting, training and motivating sales team.
Act as a liaison between sales force, inside sales staff, A/R, and Store Management to resolve issues and questions within the company guidelines, while focusing on customer satisfaction internally and externally.
Continuously research competition and conduct market analysis to ensure the company is maximizing market share.
Develop sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts, soliciting new accounts, building rapport, providing technical information and explanations, preparing quotations.
Work with upper management as it relates to marketing collateral and promotional programs for the company.
Work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities.
Promotes an enthusiastic attitude to build positive employee attitudes and morale.
Knowledge & Skills
Must have at least 10 plus years of successful experience in automotive industry or equivalent sales industry.
Proven ability to motivate sales team by setting expectations, driving sales and getting results.
Strong professional communication and interpersonal skills.
Ambitious and success driven.
Demonstrates positive attitude at all times.
Positive, poised, and able to handle challenging situations.
Believes in team contributions and recognition over personal accolades.
Basic MS office knowledge; computer software and internet proficiency.
Excellent verbal/written communication, strong negotiation and presentation skills.
Requirements
College degree required; related field, preferred
10+ years experience in auto parts sales and/or automotive industry sales management required
Proven personal sales track record required
