The Resident Services Director is responsible for effective overall management of the Resident Services Department and coordination with other ancillary health providers to provide quality care and services to all residents.
Qualifications & Education
Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a RN in Illinois
Must possess a current CPR certificate
Familiarity with pertinent State regulations
Freedom from illegal use of drugs
Persons who have been found guilty by a court of law or regulatory body of abuse, neglect or mistreatment of individuals in a health care related setting are ineligible for employment in this position
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
2 years experience in assisted living environment desired
3 years experience in a position with management and leadership responsibilities
Basic knowledge of and ability to apply Geriatric Nursing principles- Additional certification in nursing specialty of Geriatrics is desirable
Job Responsibilities
Supports and practices the philosophy, objectives, and standards of the Resident Services Department and participates in the revision of these as necessary to ensure quality care to all residents.
Ensures that the philosophy, objectives, and standards are an integral part of the orientation and education of the Resident Services Team.
Provides direct resident care/services and medication management when indicated
Completes and maintains individualized accurate health assessments and updates service plans for each resident and coordinates wellness checks for all residents
Provides direction as to format and approach to resident care/service management
Ensures implementation of resident service planning format to comply with resident needs and various regulatory agency requirements
Coordinates requirements and cooperates with all other departments in providing a favorable, physical, social, and emotional environment for all residents.
Ensures effective and efficient organization and staffing of the Resident Services Department
Ensures that resident care interventions meet the personal, physical and cognitive needs of each resident as well as maximize his/her self-care capacities, identity, independence, choice and opportunity for social interaction
Monitors the outcomes of Resident Services activities by evaluating staff performance.
Ensures a safe and sanitary environment for residents, employees, and visitors
Maintains cohesive public and professional relationships with residents, families, physicians and the community
Develops and maintains a good working relationship and cooperative attitude with intradepartmental personnel, as well as, other departments within the community.
