Reports To : President and College-Wide Financial Officer
Duties : Through a respectful constructive style and guided by the Polity and Strategic Plan, the Treasurer provides the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the Annapolis campus has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems to effectively maintain the campus and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency.
Collaborates with the campus management team and the College-Wide Financial Officer (CWFO) to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to achieve the objectives of the campus and college. Develop, motivate, and lead a high performance management team that fosters a success-oriented, accountable environment within the college. The Treasurer has oversight of the business office, buildings and grounds, personnel, technology, and auxiliary operations.
The Treasurer oversees the campus?s general accounting, payroll, student accounts, procurement and expenditures. Working with the College-Wide Financial Officer, the Treasurer is responsible for managing all fiscal functions of the campus in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, ensuring the existence of and adherence to appropriate financial controls and policies. The Treasurer ensures that campus reconciliations and reports are completed on a timely basis. The Treasurer assists in coordinating the financial audit, which is conducted from the Annapolis campus, as well as the completion of college-wide tax returns and other regulatory filings. The Treasurer prepares the campus operating budget, receiving guidance from the CWFO on college-wide assumptions and assist the Treasurer in developing current year projections and analyses. The Treasurer oversees the campus?s cash flows and anticipates operating and capital cash needs. Negotiates and approves contracts with vendors, ensuring that contracts comply with college policies, that contracts are funded, and that vendors provide goods or services before payments are made. Produces a variety of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and/or ad hoc reports for all constituencies including the Board of Visitors and Governors.
The Treasurer manages local financial relationships including banking, leasing, and lending. Works with the CWFO to report to banks and lenders as needed.
The Treasurer manages the personnel staff, including planning of staff levels and compensation, including salary and benefit programs. Ensures that payroll and benefits payments and filings are processed accurately and timely.
The Treasurer has oversight of campus buildings and grounds operation, managing the condition, upkeep, and maintenance of the campus facilities. Directs the development of capital plans, including funding of such plans.
The Treasurer manages the campus?s dining operations, including review and oversight of the 3rd party food service provider. Supervises the conference services staff.

Minimum of a Bachelor?s degree and ten years high-level management experience. Demonstrated experience working with budgets and extensive managerial and supervisory experience, ability to problem solve in a team/committee style, and ability to successfully delegate work. At least five years of supervisory experience, ability to motivate, train, and develop staff. Ability to work successfully with the College community including the Board and other professionals such as architects, lawyers, and insurance brokers. Desirable qualities include fund accounting, endowment, or grant management experience.
Compensation : Minimum starting salary $132,670.69
