Entry Level Accountant Job Opening in Waltham, Massachusetts - EyeGate Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (EYEG) has a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our Finance and Accounting team. We are looking for someone who is just starting out or who wants to start out in Accounting. This is a full-time, 40-hour position, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer.
Essential Job Functions:
Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment;
Code and record all invoices in Great Plains accounting system;
Process vendor payments and check requests;
1099 maintenance;
Respond to all vendor and employee inquiries;
Process bi-weekly payroll;
Maintain employee personnel files;
Administer employee benefits;
Assist in month end closing relating to accounts payable and payroll, including journal entries and account reconciliations;
Sort and distribute incoming mail;
Office administration: order supplies, book travel and meals as needed; and
Other ad hoc projects as required.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
2+ years of accounts payable and payroll experience preferred;
Bachelors degree in Accounting or currently enrolled in a program;
Must have strong work ethics and a professional attitude;
Must be well organized and a self-starter;
Must be able to follow standard filing procedures;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; and,
Prior experience with ERP systems, Great Plains and ADP Payroll a plus.
