Clinical Documentation Auditor Job Opening in Rocky Mount, North carolina - The Clinical Documentation Auditor (RN) is responsible for concurrent auditing of medical record documentation to ensure specificity of diagnoses and procedures to adequately reflect care provided, use of resources and diagnoses treated. Facilitate modifications to clinical documentation through extensive concurrent interaction with physicians and clinical staff to support that appropriate reimbursement and clinical severity is captured. Proactively coach physicians and clinical staff in areas where further specificity is needed in documentation. Supports timely, accurate, and complete documentation of clinical information. Educates the physicians and clinical staff on an ongoing basis.
Associates degree in Nursing (BSN preferred), must be currently licensed to practice nursing in the state of North Carolina and a minimum of 2 years experience as a RN in a hospital setting.
Requires analytical thinking, problem solving plus excellent oral and written communication skills. Prefer prior experience in health information management and/or coding.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, day shift. Option to work remotely (approximately 50% of the work week) after training has been completed.
