Entry-level/Junior Web Developer Job Opening in Arlington, Virginia - GXM is seeking a dynamic, junior/entry-level web developer with a passion for coding and a desire to learn new and innovative technologies. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate sound knowledge of, and enthusiasm for, web development and software engineering. Candidate will be responsible for the creation of new applications on a small team.
GXM is creating and enhancing the site for the US government. The first phase of the site development has been successful and we are looking for a talented developer to join our growing team for the next phase. The site is used as the focal point for challenges and hackathon to solve problems such as humanitarian assistance, logistics and military preparedness.
Ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in the design, modification, development, and implementation of web sites and software programming applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Add capability to the MD5 Web Site.
Design, Implement and Test new capability
Work with other team members to estimate work phase and design new features.
Troubleshoot production problems on the site.
Design and develop new software products or major enhancements to existing software.
Requirements:
Experience with javascript, HTML and CSS
Experience with sql databases such as sqlite/mysql
Experience with of non-sql databases such as mongoDB
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Science, Engineering or related field
MUST BE A US CITIZEN. (Please note: Non-citizens are not eligible for this position.)
Desired Skills:
Experience with the following: meteorJS, nodeJS, docker
Experience with tools such as git, jira, webstorm
