Compliance Administrator Job Opening in Corpus Christi, Texas - Purpose: Responsible for ensuring the Company is in compliance with all state and federal regulations. Reviews and appraises the soundness, adequacy, effectiveness, and proper application of accounting and financial controls and of credit underwriting. Assesses the adequacy and extent of programs designed to safeguard Company assets. Assists with internal audits. Compiles and issues reports detailing conclusions and providing recommendations for improvement. Prepares and files reports with government agencies as directed by law.
Scope: Under the general supervision of the CEO, develops, recommends and reports on improvements in mortgage/business lending and consumer products. Incumbent is responsible for ensuring loan documentation servicing is completed on required collateral, as well as ensuring the loan is funded if approved or proper notification is given if denied. The compliance administrator will be required to perform loan reviews on both mortgage/business lending and consumer lending. . Incumbent will work closely with Cornerstone Credit Union League to review compliance regulations for collections and compile written policies for mortgage/business and consumer lending. The compliance administrator is required to assemble necessary documentation for auditors/examiners, when requested. If modifications are necessary on said documentation, incumbent will have to produce corrections for compliance purposes.

Machine Skills: Fax Machine, P.C. experience including using MS Word and Excel, Typewriter, Copy Machine and 10 Key calculators.
Job Specifications: High School graduate or equivalent. Some college coursework preferred. Administrative experience required. Detail-oriented, well organized, self-starter who is able to work independently and maintain high confidentiality standard. Strong reading comprehension and written communication skills . Solid analytical and problem solving skills. Effective public relations abilities. Creative and able to develop innovative solutions. Thorough knowledge of applicable federal and stated financial regulations. Understanding of real estate law, loan procedures and documentation, and auditing.
Physical Requirements: Incumbent must be capable of lifting up to 25 pounds. Job requires frequent viewing of computer screen, continual eye coordination and hand/wrist movement and finger manipulation. Must be able to sit for long periods of time as well as stoop, bend and reach overhead.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Performs specialized or confidential administrative duties, including researching date and preparing reports as needed
Assumes responsibility for the Company?s compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies.
Reviews and implements regulatory changes. Compiles reference resources for the Company?s daily use to ensure compliance with regulations.
Assists Senior Management in developing policies and procedures for compliance issues. Conducts periodic reviews of existing policies to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness.
Ensures policies and procedures are updated and are in accordance with evolving regulations, legal requirements, and industry trends.
Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination with area personnel and with management.
Review loans (25% or more) to insure compliance with Federal, State, and Credit Union Policy Guidelines (Consumer, Mortgage and Commercial loans). Underwriter training based on the results of loan review.
Approval of subsequent action forms, loan corrections, and loan changes.
Investigation of loan documentation and transactions to verify for accuracy.
Collection review a) autopilot: collector collection activity b) Repossession documentation c) foreclosures d) Bankruptcies e) charge offs.
Administer NMLS, E-Oscar, MeridianLink, and CUNA
Order training webinars from Cornerstone.
Review Consumer, Mortgage, Commercial, and Collection policy, making changes to Consumer, Mortgage, Commercial, and Collection policy when required.
Work with IT department to update CUNA loan document changes.
Support loan documentation training a) subsequent action form b) change terms form c) Security Agreement.
Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems or concerns.
Attends meetings as required.
Assumes responsibility for ensuring professional business relationships are established and maintained with regulatory agencies, auditors, appraisers, and business associates.
Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
Stays informed of trends and developments in compliance issues and loan reviews.
Ensures work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.

Salary: $40,000.00 to $47,500.00 /year
