Software Developer / Programmer Job Opening in Chicago, Illinois - This Southside Chicago company designs, engineers and builds PLC-based mechanical systems for industrial applications as well as develops proprietary software/technology for their customers. Due to continual growth and expansion, the company is in search of an additional Software to create and maintain software deployed at the customer, offer excellent technical support for clients, as well as support in-house technology initiatives. The successful candidate will be able to work independently, while also collaborating with key stakeholders during all stages of product development. The position is a great opportunity for a mid-level developer to take the next step in their career with a growing, stable company.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Maintain and improve the performance of existing software
Recommend improvements to existing software programs as necessary
Develop and implement new software programs
Design and update software database(s)
Test and maintain software products to ensure strong functionality and optimization
Document all work and activities as required
Clearly and regularly communicate with management and technical support colleagues
Periodically provide training to user-base after software updates
Provide software support to field service team and customers
Update and deploy software upgrades remotely or on-site when required
Support in-house technology upgrades and improvements
Job Requirements (Basic Education, Experience and Skills Required)
Excellent attitude and genuine passion for programming
Ability to work with others in a team-oriented environment
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, MIS preferred or equivalent work experience
Complete competency in Framework and expertise including , C#, , Java, C, C++, Visual Studio
Demonstrated command of Microsoft SQL Server (Transactional)
Machine control and/or interaction with HMI or SCADA systems a plus
Excellent organization, interpersonal and communication skill
Strong logical reasoning and problem solving ability
Professional, courteous, punctual and a willingness to take on challenging tasks
