Sprezzatura currently seeks a Deputy Program Manager for the Health Product Support (HPS) Technical Management Team that oversees major VA IT programs currently transitioning to, or already in the sustainment phase of their lifecycle.
IT Project Manager / Deputy Program Manager
Seeking a Project Manager or Deputy Program Manager to support a Government Program Manager responsible for a portfolio of VA health applications and VistA packages. The individual will assist the Government Program Manager in all aspects of managing the portfolio, coordinating all aspects of the program (scope, schedule, budget, communications, risk management, change control, etc). Responsibilities will include prioritizing and delegating work across the contract support team on behalf of the Government client, proxy ownership of high value projects and action items as required, assisting team members within their work-streams, and executing tasks as directed/required by the Program Manager. The individual will need to prepare reports for upper management regarding status of projects.
The Deputy Program Manager will work closely with stakeholders to analyze program needs for contractor support, as well as to define and document scopes of work, plans, schedules, site-specific considerations, work requirements, milestones, and operational activities for a variety of support contracts. Will also advise the Government program manager client in developing clear, accurate, and detailed contractual requirements.
Highly complex environment characterized by departures from established practice ? in which one is required to manage multiple, technically complex tasks concurrently. Usually there are conflicting requirements, the problems are poorly defined, or they require projections based on variable data or technical developments. Project assignments involve extensive investigation and analysis of undefined factors and conditions in order to understand task and project interrelationships and their potential effect on the assigned program. The DPM helps define the nature and scope of problems, identifies alternatives to overcome these, and makes recommendations on implementation.
Deputy Program Manager will have 15+ years of experience performing IT project, program, or portfolio management work. Experience in IT operations (help desk, change, configuration, release/deployment, etc.) and VA health organizations and products preferred. Must be well organized, detail oriented, proactive, a team player, and have strong oral and written communications skills. Project management experience a must.
