Director, Health Center Operations & HR Training Job Opening in Bethesda, Maryland - In this role, Director Health Center Operations Training will elevate health center operational performance through the delivery of training and technical assistance that improves the delivery of care through efficient and effective administrative management, including, clinic operations, human resources, change management, and patient and staff satisfaction efforts.
Essential Functions:
Develop and implement a strategic approach to health center operations training and technical assistance that reflects the changing health care environment.
Measurably improve the operational performance of health centers in areas including but not limited to strategic planning, business/operations continuity, risk management, practice operations and human resources by accomplishing the following:
Identify health center training and technical assistance needs;
Develop training curricula and tools to meet those needs;
Direct and manage the provision of TTA activities related to those areas; and
Evaluate activities for both successful process and outcomes and use this feedback to improve programs.
Define, track and apply performance measures that gauge operational trends: such as cost of care, administrative efficiency, and customer and staff satisfaction.
Instigate quality improvement initiatives using data to inform solutions.
Assure all TTA programs integrate operations management concepts as appropriate, by working across the TTA Department, other NACHC departments, Primary Care Associations, Health Center Controlled Networks and other TTA partners.
Serve as a primary planner for NACHC conference sessions relevant to clinic operations.
Develop product concepts and stay abreast of current issues and trends in adult learning relative to the healthcare operating environment.
Manage the deliverable milestones and budget assigned to these activities, including any federal funds and its associated requirements.
Actively engage and influence overall improvement as a member of the Training and Technical Assistance team; work closely with other team members to ensure integration of operations management concepts.
Perform other duties as circumstances arise or as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Results oriented.
Demonstrated skill in leading groups in the context of executive and mid-level managers responsible for daily operations.
Strong understanding of managed care financial indicators and models, new care delivery systems including Accountable Care Organizations and other shared savings opportunities.
Minimum of five years experience working in primary care operations (ideally, work at or with community health centers).
Excellent oral, written, facilitation and interpersonal skills.
Experience in project management, including managing multiple budgets, projects and deadlines.
Works effectively with minimum direction.
Travel required (approximately 15 - 25%).
Works effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds.
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree with significant education/training in health care administration and/or and/or practice operations (Master's degree preferred) or equivalent work experience.
